With open communication of critical importance, the airport’s new manager for public relations starts today focused on enhancing customer engagement and outreach.
LINCOLN, Neb — May 11, 2020 — Today, the Lincoln Airport Authority is announcing the hiring of Rachel Barth as its director of communications and customer engagement. Barth’s tenure in the newly created position is effective immediately.
“This pandemic has underscored how vital it is for airports to quickly recognize and respond to the questions, expectations and needs of the community it serves,” said David Haring, executive director of the Lincoln Airport Authority. “Focused on not only responding to activities at the Airport but also tasked with bringing the Airport to the community, the director of communications and customer engagement will be invaluable to us, our patrons and the community at large.”
Barth brings a wealth of local experience in communications, marketing and public relations. Prior to her most recent position as a marketing manager for U.S. Property, she served as the public relations/media contact and spokesperson for Lincoln Electric System 2016–19. In previous stints, Barth worked in marketing roles for the Nebraska Community Blood Bank, Cabela’s and the Nebraska chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. She is a native of Bennet and earned her bachelor’s degree in advertising and master’s degree in marketing and communications from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
“The Lincoln Airport is an iconic part of Lincoln, and with my Nebraska roots, I’m excited to be a part of that history and the future of the Lincoln Airport Authority,” Barth said. “I’m ready to build engaging community partnerships, show Lincoln all that LNK offers and help us move forward.”
“As states begin to reopen and the transportation industry resumes its normal rhythm, it will be critical to have a dedicated communications professional at the helm,” Haring said. “Even during the difficulties of the pandemic, the Lincoln Airport Authority was committed to making this hire to ensure open lines of communication with travelers and the community.”
“Rachel’s background in marketing, communications and public relations—coupled with her Nebraska ties and engaging personality—made her the ideal candidate for this new role,” Haring said. “We are eagerly looking forward to the passion, energy and expertise that she will bring to the LNK team.”
